Claire is a writer, poet, and editor based in the midwest.
Claire Kroening is a writer of lyrical, warm, picturesque poetry and prose. They're also a freelance editor and proofreader for other writers. Their work has been published in a multitude of online and print magazines worldwide, where they are a Poetry Nation National Poetry Contest semi-finalist and a topical award winner from NJ National Poetry Quarterly. When not browsing the latest zines, they appreciate visiting art museums, working on their next endeavor at a local coffee shop, and studying creative writing. Claire currently resides in the upper midwest with their cat, Beau.
Themes of their poetry often focus on racial and LGBTQ+ justice, environmental activism, the mundane, nature, and elements of love. Find where to read their works on the 'publications' page.
Their upcoming works include their debut poetry chapbook, Where Oceans Meet. As well as Anchored Forest, We Last Were Home-bound, and an ekphrastic poetry collection titled Aster Filled Atriums. Multiple fiction fantasy/sci-fi novels are also in the works, alongside a digital literary zine, Noontime Passenger.
